

What to bring

Here are a few suggestions of things you might like to bring with you but if all else fails just bring your IFYE Spirit, a sense of adventure and fun.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
Unfortunately flights do get delayed and luggage sometimes like to take a less than direct route - so please be prepared. Therefore you are advised to have travel insurance that covers health, luggage and cancellations of all types. Please check your own countries advise regarding using a European Health Card (E111) in England. At the time of writing the residents of some countries which can use National Health Service (England) at no cost and others who cannot. It is your responsibility to check your status.
CLOTHING FOR ALL WEATHERS
The North of England is renown for its rain in all it's forms from thunderstorms to light drizzle, However we are meeting together in August, the school summer holiday month, so maybe we might get to see the sunshine - please!! This means come prepared for all types of August weather from gale force winds and rain to hopefully hot, dry and sunny days.

CLOTHES FOR SPECIAL EVENTS
There will be an opening ceremony on Sunday morning at the local church, and garden party in on Sunday afternoon at which you may wish to wear national costume. Monday night is fancy dress - see more details below.
A more formal dinner on Thursday night when you may wish to dress up a little.
Many events will require short walks around college and the local village, so please bring sensible footwear.
SHOES AND CLOTHES FOR WALKING
For those of you who are more adventurous and
experienced walkers there will also be an opportunity
for a day's fell walking in the Lake District, for which
walking boots, a small rucksack (to carry your lunch)
and waterproofs will be essential.
TOWELS WILL BE PROVIDED
But if you want a spare, please bring one with you.
ODDS AND ENDS
Toiletries, personal medication, sunscreen and sunglasses (in case the sun makes an appearance), an adaptor for electrical items. Please remember that the UK uses three pin plugs!
TOMBOLA GIFT
In case you have never been before there will be a raffle/tombola on Thursday and as usual the prizes will consist of small gifts from the participants.
CASH FOR TOMBOLA TICKETS, BAR ETC
There is an ATM on-site and you will have limited access to banks throughout the week. Please remember that England uses £ Sterling.
THEME NIGHT
Monday is a Lancashire themed night so if you have something red to add to your outfit that would be great (socks, t-shirt, hat, hair!!)
