IFYE 2020 CONFERENCE,
AUGUST 2021 CANCELLED
Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic in the United Kingdom, the UK government have announced regulations which mean that our host college have notified us to say that they are unable to facilitate the conference this year.
Therefore, with no alternative accommodation available, the organising committee of IFYE 2020, with the support of European IFYE Board, have made the sad but sensible decision to CANCEL this year’s European Conference which was due to take place from Saturday 7th to Saturday 14th August 2021.
Whilst we are disappointed to be making this announcement, we wholeheartedly support the UK Government and Myerscough College on this matter. Hopefully by working together as a worldwide community we can stop this virus, and the IFYE conference will come back bigger and stronger in 2022 in Finland.
IFYE is a volunteer led event and the European Conference is a highlight of the year for many people. Whilst this news is disappointing for everyone, we are sure you would agree that the health, safety and well-being of our members, their families, the college staff, hosts, entertainers, and everyone involved in this event is most important.
Due to the cancellation, we have taken the decision to return the conference fees. We will be sending an email to all the delegates who we are holding money for asking for their instructions in the next few days.
We ask that you advise us of your instructions before 31st May 2020. Please note there will be an admin fee of £60 to cover bank charges for your refund, and costs we have already paid. There will be no IFYE membership fee payable for 2020 or 2021.
Thank you in advance for your support at such a difficult time for us all and we look forward to seeing everyone to next year’s conference in Finland and being able to welcome you to England in the future.

Take care and stay safe.
